Fagan Patterson was born and raised in Victoria, Texas. A sixth generation Texan, his ties to the area run deep. The Fagan Ranch was founded in 1820's from a Spanish land grant and is one of the oldest ranches in Texas still in continuous operation by the same family. At age 15 he began working as a roughneck on oil rigs during the summer to earn money for the school year. He continued this through college while attending Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. Along with his regular studies he also began taking flying lessons to further his education. After graduating with a BBA in Business Management he moved to Austin and over the next several years worked for two start-up venture capital companies. He started out as mid-level manager and helped raise money for various projects. Yearning to get back home, Mr. Patterson then moved back to the family ranch to learn the family ranching business from his grandfather. While working at the ranch he traded some labor for his first two cows and from there he built up his own herd, which he runs on family land to this day. Along with his fathers influence he credits much of his moral fiber and integrity to the values instilled in him from the time spent with his grandfather. In 1991 he teamed up with a childhood friend and formed Appraisal Associates in Victoria, a full service real estate appraisal firm handling residential, commercial, and agricultural appraisal work in the gulf coast area. In 1995 he formed his own company, Patterson Appraisal Service, which he still currently owns. A partial client list includes local and national banks, nationwide mortgage companies, universities, and law firms. In 2001, as a secondary business line he formed Patterson Homes, a small volume builder in Victoria County. His first year in the parade of homes he was able to successfully compete against established builders and win a design award for his home. In the late summer of 2003 Will Moore was in Victoria casting for his upcoming feature Wesley Cash. By chance during the casting call the two met and hit it off immediately. Mr. Patterson helped out on the production and many hours were spent during which Mr. Moore and Mr. Patterson discussed all aspects of the film business. They both quickly recognized their work ethic, drive and desire to succeed where one and the same. During the filming of Wesley Cash, Mr. Patterson became an executive producer on the film. Shortly thereafter he became an executive producer with Bandwagon Films and a partner in the company. |
